Why I choose nude photography

It has been more than 20 years since I learned photography while studying in the National Institute of Arts. Now, I'm engaged in the photography teaching and creation, and other interested fields include the portrait, advertisement ,news and magazine etc.. There are several reasons why I choose nude photography as my prime focus.

In my first job as a photographer in a wedding company, I took a picture for a starlet.  All they ask is something that can make money, and I lost the opportunity to show her real beauty.

Later, I was deeply impressed by two foreign photographers. One is David Hamilton , a British photographer. He expressed perfectly the beauty of a western maiden body through sunlight. The other one is Hideki Fujii , who is a Japanese photographer and displays the shyness and implicitly of Japanese maiden as well.

I truly hope that I can accomplish some art works, which may reveal the style with orient characteristic. It's been 15 years since I took a body photograph. I remember one sunny morning, my sleeping wife's body gently bathed in the morning sunlight, I picked up my camera and grasped the peaceful and eternal memory. Afterwards, I tried to take the B&W pictures through the concept of sketch. A series of these works "Between Black and White" were performed in my first personal exhibition. Then , a series of works, "Lonely Window", through windows with different shapes matched with sun light and then , a series of works, "Foggy Language", describing human body background with Taiwan scenery were produced.

It took me more than 10 years to accomplish these special selections, and numerous difficulties have been overcome. For example, a proper scenery is hard to find, the untrained models have to suffer from the bad weather and we have to walk through the mountains and seas in the country.

I appreciate all the support from everyone, and hope my works can express the visual arts and reveal its spirit and sensation.
